Job Description

Managerial Requirements:

Leadership:

  • Research and document emerging technology and trends in digital products.
  • Gather, manage, and analyse best design and development practices, within and across industry.
  • Evangelize product development thinking within the organization.
  • Critically review and refine existing product development and design process within the organization.
  • Define KPi's related to product design activities.
  • Systematically track and report on KPi's to respective stakeholders.

Management

  • Analyze relevant markets and customer base to develop a deep understanding of the customer and market
  • Develop broad knowledge about current and future product features.
  • Work with stakeholders to define product vision, product design principles, product goals and design strategies to help achieve those goals.
  • Maintain product roadmap and product design standards that assure development projects are optimally aligned with business objectives.
  • Support and expand the organization's design and development process with updated systems, tools, and templates.
  • Apply sound design and development principles to improve performance, capacity, and scalability of products.
  • Help expand, train and mentor the product team.

Requirements Analysis:

  • Consult business management team to clarify objectives and functional requirements for new or modified products.
  • Work with other customer-facing teams to define product requirements that address market opportunities.
  • Quantify scope of work, resources and timelines required for developing prototypes and features.
  • Work with Product Manager in planning and execution of new product releases.

Product Design:

  • Translate product requirements into potential solutions.
  • Define and evangelize micro-vision of every new feature.
  • Produce prototypes to assess stakeholder/customer/user response to proposed solutions.
  • Analyse customer/user feedback and apply relevant insights to improve proposed solution.
  • Assist the business in selecting the most relevant solutions.
  • Work closely with domain, product management, experience design and product engineering teams to find the most optimal solutions.
  • Define detailed workflow diagrams, specifications, and guidelines to support new features.

Product Development:

  • Provide timely guidance and feedback to all teams for proper alignment with the product design and development goals.
  • Regularly review and test development releases.

Product Quality:

  • Define business success and customer experience metrics to benchmark against.
  • Regularly monitor, analyse, and report on user activities and feedback.

Product Support:

  • Work with pre-sales and product management teams in solution demonstrations.
  • Provide support for production escalations and problem resolution for customers.
  • Assist technical team with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems knowledge.
